This book attempts to identify the distinction between each of these four categories and properly explain how they relate to each other.I do find it to be incredibly important that we not consider a person reached and to simply move on to the next person once they pray the sinner's prayer and accept Jesus. It is very important that they understand the larger Bible and how it all comes together. Some of the emails he includes in the book that he has received prove the need for some education as to the framework of the Biblical message and sadly reflect some of the questions I've been asked as well. If your people don't know what Jesus being the Messiah has to do with us being saved, or if they're asking if Jesus preached Paul's message, you would do well to spend more time teaching the actual content of the Bible rather than messages that build upon Biblical concepts your congregation isn't familiar with in the first place.The author understandably spends quite a bit of time trying to reassure the reader that he is not speaking against personal salvation or the evangelism process, he is simply trying to get us to stop and spend some more time developing an understanding of the actual life and story of Jesus, and the rest of the Bible that is a very important part of the context and why we need a salvation in the first place.He also spends some time highlighting that we are not done once we are saved and that there is a reason we are still here. Our behavior, actions, motivations, and routes through which we do evangelize and disciple others should be in keeping with what we know about Jesus. We are to live for Him in light of what He showed us. There is a lot more growth as a Christian that takes place after that conversion moment and too often Christians are allowed and even encouraged to sit in stagnation after that moment. If we really understood the Bible, it would not be the everyday car payments and such that take up 99% of our conscious awareness day in and day out.

McKnight does a wonderful job of working out an idea which has been proposed by several others pastors and scholars. This is the idea that biblical discipleship has all but fallen out of the mindset of the western church as an actual and necessary goal for those who would follow Jesus.This book is critical because it shows that the heart of the Gospel as understood by Jesus, the apostles, and the early church was a gospel which was all encompassing, beckoning the Christian to imitate all of Jesus' life and preach all of the gospel rather than simply to preach the plan of salvation. I value this work greatly as a pastor and as a denominational worker. We should be challenging our churches to embrace the gospel to the fullest extent in every way possible.

We have been teaching people they need to make a decision to believe in Jesus when we should have been directing people to follow Jesus. Of course you can't truly follow Jesus without belief, but after reading this book I think you can't really believe in Jesus without wanting to follow him. It's about far more than just deciding to believe in Jesus so I can be saved. When we teach people that Jesus is good for us because he saves us and then make discipleship (a whole-life following) to him a secondary aspect, we run the risk of people using Jesus as a mega-sized good luck charm...which is not really believing in Jesus. It's spiritualized self-preservation, which makes Jesus all about me, instead of making me all about Jesus.

Another way of putting it is this: the gospel is the Story of Israel that finds resolution in the saving Story of Jesus, and that story is about God’s work in this world in the people of God.The above quote from this very important book summarizes for me what Dr. Scot McKnight is trying to emphasize. Once again Mr Hosker has started a new thrilling series with fiction mingled with historical fact and produced a highly enjoyable read. Another book that was hard to put down yet when finished leaves the reader hungry for more. What makes his books so darn enjoyable is the simplicity of the story. It isn't heavy reading but stimulating enjoyable reading. As I grow older It is what captures my attention leaving me hungry for more!!!!

Another well-executed novel of the Middle Ages. Once again the author puts you right there in the battles. I'm always grateful to be born in the 21st century versus the 14th century were you had famine plague pestilence and then major battles and if you are poor person you just lost out however if you had redeeming qualities that put you in the Forefront, this book gives you hope for a better tomorrow even though it is fiction.

It is his style, ease with the time’s and his ability to create characters that jump from the page, spellbinding the reader. I anxiously await Book 3, now that he’s been knighted, Sir William will start the next part of his journey.

Another excellent read!! Mr. Hosker haa become a favorite of those you value history told in a believable coherent manner.

My Dad a former police officer suffers from Alzheimers...he is in denial at times..probably helps him cope, not sure. He is bored and no longer can read the things he once could. He is turned off by childrens books and will not even attempt to read them. When i saw your book i was excited because it has a beautiful cover and i loved the photos. I however agree with another review, if he sees the memory impaired part he will reject it and possibly feel stress.I see no need for it to be on the cover. i used several Sharpies to try and cover it up and the book now looks well ugly. I hope you will consider in the future to be more discreet simply because it matters to those that still kinda understand. Reading and relaxing are interupted when you are reminded about your illness. The photos and the meat of the book are great!! Thanks for kindness!

If the person you are purchasing this for can still read and comprehend to any level do not buy it as the title is insulting. My mother does not want to be known as a "memory-challenged adult. and certainly does not want to be seen reading a book that indicates that she is memory challenged. The pictures are lovely, but title should change as it is unnecessary to label it in this way. I covered part of the title with electrical tape and ripped out the title page and she is enjoying it more now.

First off, I'm in the camp that says it's okay to say memory challenged. Years ago when it started happening my mom reached out to me and I listened to her. I had a feeling what was going on, and what that must feel like, how scary that must be. My mom knows she's memory challenged. She has known for over a decade and it's okay to say it.This book has beautiful photos. My mom loves going through, photo by photo. Sometimes she reads it on her own and sometimes I read along with her, commenting as we go. Mom is in the final stages and this book gives her joy. She also loves the robot/therapy cat if you are looking to bundle this with another gift.

They would LOVE this picture book, I KNOW!Eliezer Sobel was inspired to write this book for his beloved mother, Manya Sobel who has lived with Alzheimer's disease for nearly ten years. It warms my heart to know that she remains at home under the loving and devoted constant care of his father, Max Sobel. It warms my heart as I picture them reading this book together.As a storyteller with 30+ years telling stories to multi-ethnic, multilingual populations (ages 2 to 92) including people with special needs - hearing and Deaf - there are no words to express how much I love "BLUE SKY WHITE CLOUDS..." On behalf of the millions of people living with Alzheimer's disease, and their devoted caretakers, thank you Eliezer Sobel for writing this "exquisite FIRST-EVER Picture book for Memory-Challenged Adults."

I have to return it. The "memory-challenged" on the cover is the reason. My recipient is memory challenged, but can read. She is sensitive and I don't want to insult her or hurt her feelings.

A bit too simple for my mom. My mom can still read; this book is like a children's book. My mom is very sensitive about that and thinks that it's demeaning. So, I donated this one to the Memory Unit at the Assisted Living for people who are at this level. But since my mom can read at a bit of a higher level, but struggled with real books, I got her Emma Rose Sparrow's books and those were a much better fit. By the way, the photos in this book are nice. Words are HUGE. Just too 'simple' for my mom.

A collection of photographs to initiate conversation. Purchased for my mother. More appropriate for nursing home staff who do not know patient's history. Seemed a lovely concept, but I could make similar with my own photos or copies of family photos, or just use magazines. She does frown when she reads the title "for memory challenged adults." But she doesn't mention it.

This is a book that had been missing from the universe. Eliezer Sobel has a heart of gold and a talent that deserves kudos and recognition. What was meant for his mother is truly a book that bridges a gap that only Eliezer himself even observed. It is not that this gap was not there, it is that only Eliezer himself was willing to see it and cross it, in such a lovely manner.

I purchased these for my 3 year old nephew who absolutely loves them. However, my sister doesn't due to the bug having individual legs on the stickers vs one big sticker than encompasses the entire bug. She said it takes a few minutes to get each sticker out without ripping the legs off. If you have a small child that will be using this you may want to consider this since you will be the one taking all of the stickers off the book.

Great stickers! Very realistic looking. Bought the stickers for an insect project for homeschool. They were supposed to collect bugs and display them but we live up north where there aren't really any bugs to collect during most of the school year. I believe these stickers are going to be a great alternative!

These ARE NOT reusable. They're just regular stickers. We love them as regular stickers and have bought more after knowing they're not reusable... But they shouldn't be described as reusable because, they are not.

I ordered 3 of these books thinking I was going to get all photographs and that most of the 400 stickers would be different. I was very wrong. Each page has a big beautiful sticker of some subject, let's say a butterfly, and then on the page there are identical stickers of varying sizes, plus lame non-photo shapes, a butterfly silhouette in different shades of a particular color (purple for example). Based on the description, I was hoping for lots of variety and thought I was going to get 400 unique photos. First of all, there are more like 100 different photos, Second of all, Not all the stickers are photos! Some are just colorful silhouettes!! I believe they are including colorful shapes (non-photographs) in their total of 400.My plan was to use them as reference for coloring/scrapbooking, so i was hoping for maximum variety and all photos. These books aren't useful for that purpose.All that said, they appear to be really good quality.

Perfect for our pre-school co-op. The stickers came off easily (with some help for 3-year old hands) and they were of good quality. The amount of stickers and the variety were the best. One of the girls in the co-op does NOT like creepy crawlies, but she was still able to find stickers in here that helped her when making her insect craft. From an artistic standpoint, they also look like the real creatures--no need to dumb it down for the little kids!

Love these stickers.... My kitchen is Bug theme and I needed these to finish off the canisters and assorted appliances. I'm a big kid and I'm guessing a little kid would love these too!! The only thing I would have liked more is not so many butterflies. They are too girly for the look I went for, but I'll give those to a friend's daughter.

Lots of repeats, but the stickers are nice.
